How it works
Four steps, no hidden automation. You connect the accounts, set the profile, and decide how much the agent is allowed to do.
01
Add your own Freelancer.com access token and OpenRouter API key, then pick the model you want to use. Credentials stay on the server you run.
02
Import the skills, rates, preferences and proposal instructions the agent should use when judging fit and writing drafts.
03
The agent polls Freelancer.com, scores projects against your profile, explains the gaps and drafts proposals you can edit.
04
Submit every bid yourself, or explicitly enable bounded auto-bidding with a match threshold, bid limits and a daily cap.
How it works
Freelance Copilot finds relevant projects, evaluates each opportunity, uses AI to prepare a tailored bid, and returns to Freelancer.com to submit it.

Feature highlights
No spray-and-pray automation. Each part of the loop keeps you informed and leaves the final decision with you.
The agent polls Freelancer.com for the keywords and preferences you set, so you are not refreshing the job feed all day.
Every project gets a match score with matching skills, missing skills and concerns worth checking before you bid.
Drafts use your saved profile and the project details. The agent will not invent experience, certifications or portfolio pieces.
Review and submit every bid yourself, or explicitly enable automated bidding within limits you configure.
Activity logs and basic analytics show scans, matches, proposals, bids and errors, so the process stays inspectable.
Self-host the application, inspect the source and bring your own Freelancer.com and OpenRouter credentials.
Safety & control
Auto-bidding is opt-in and bounded. When it runs, you set the ceiling, and every decision is recorded.
Auto-bid · Off by default
Off by default
Nothing is bid automatically until you explicitly turn auto-bidding on.
Bounded by your rules
A minimum match score, bid bounds and a daily cap are required.
Pausable at any time
Pause or resume automation without losing your settings.
Logged decisions
Every automated bid is recorded in the activity log.
Grounded drafts
Proposals use your profile and project facts, never invented experience.
Protected credentials
Encrypted at rest and kept out of the frontend and logs.
Self-hosting is not the same as staying offline. When the integrations run, data is sent to Freelancer.com and OpenRouter. The application is built for good-faith bidding on relevant projects.
Open source
Freelance Copilot is released under the MIT License. Inspect the code, host it yourself, report a bug, or send a patch.
There is no hosted version and no account to create. You run the application on your own machine or server.
